Golf Business International has recruited its third ‘overseas’ member – please welcome South Africa-based Pete Richardson.

Richardson’s experience is in development, property, management, and sales and marketing, though, as a qualified journalist, he began his career in golf in the UK public relations sector at the turn of the century.

His eponymous company, Pete Richardson Communications, was quick to establish itself in the golf PR market and, after nine years, he chose to relocate to head up the sales and marketing division of the soon-to-be-launched Legend Golf & Safari Resort, in Limpopo, South Africa.

Yorkshireman Richardson has been based in Limpopo ever since, but, using the skills and experience he gained in his multi-faceted career at Legend, he now offers a varied consultancy in the South African golf sector. Richardson was a co-founder of both the South African Golf Tourism Association and the world’s first specialist rhino orphanage: The Rhino Orphanage.

He said: “The continued expansion of Golf Business International has not gone unnoticed on the African continent and I felt now was the right time to join the fold. I’ve worked with many of the members previously, while I know others from my time in PR.

“I believe the ethos of Golf Business International is a solid, forward-thinking concept which will benefit not only its members, but also the golf industry as a whole.”
